Our Big News!!

Shelby has a secret...She's going to be a big sister in September. Yep, Momma's pregnant! Shelby's so excited, she has started waving and saying "mama" this week. Okay, so maybe that was just a coincidence, but we really are excited. Shelby will have a sibling 15 months younger than her. Mommy and Daddy will have two in diapers, two in cribs, and more love than we ever imagined.

P.S. The reason I had to take a picture of her asleep in her "big sis" onesie was because she doesn't stand still long enough to get a picture of the whole outfit.

Climbing

It looks like our precious little girl is going to be a climber. She seems to head straight for the box instead of the toy no matter what we give her. Plus, she heads directly for our stairs if we don't keep her corralled!

On another note, while the rest of you were enjoying a snow day at home, I had to open the pharmacy by 9:00 this morning. It took me over an hour to go less than 3 miles to work. The big truck I am now driving got stuck on a hill, and four really nice men from the Mexican food restaurant nearby had to come pile in the back of the truck to add some weight. If only they would have brought a pitcher of margaritas with them!

Does Anyone Speak Baby Babble?

I'm not sure what she is saying, but Shelby has become quite chatty in the past few days. Can anyone interpret this for us?

Sorting Laundry

No free rides around here! Shelby earns her keep by sorting laundry for Mama...or just making a mess of it all! Why does every picture have an extra layer of drool??

Bryon caught her in the act trying to climb out of the crib. The bumpers have since come down, and the mattress has been lowered to prevent a major crash. All we need is a big bruise or broken bone...

Shelby loves mealtime, especially the sweet foods like mango and banana. We found guava babyfood in New Mexico, and that seemed to be her all-time favorite. Too bad we can't find more in Texas! She is so funny while eating, making lots of "mmm" sounds. It's the littlest things she does that melts our hearts.

Morris House Christmas

Matching baby blues! Hopefully Shelby will keep her eye color to match Monty's (Gramps, Peeps, Peepaw...whatever!). We had a wonderful Christmas in Big Spring. Shelby's cousin, Carly, was a soldier in The Nutcracker, so we all met in West Texas to see her performance. She was BY FAR the best soldier out of the bunch!

Instead of the traditional Christmas dinner, Molly made brisket, and we tried to duplicate Ivey's "fajitas". They turned out even better! Mom and Jeff, Dad and Christy, Molly and Marc, and Bryon and I had a great time playing wii, decorating ornaments, chasing Shelby, Conrad, and Carly, and opening tons of gifts. Thanks to all for everything!

With all her new toys, all this little angel wants is the cord to the lights. This looks safe to me! She is a little stubborn once she sets her mind to something i.e. playing with cords and outlets. "No" means nothing at this point!

Oh Christmas Palm!

The Pfaff household always has to do things a little differently, so we have a Christmas Palm instead of a tree. Easy to assemble, easy to clean up, and easy to store make for the perfect tree! Shelby loves pulling on the ribbons on the gifts and staring at the lights. We are all looking forward to a little time off next week and traveling to Big Spring and Albuquerque.
