Spring is here!
I love to garden. I think I get it from my mom. She used to make me pull weeds and plant bushes as punishment for staying out too late. Like Br'er Rabbit says, "Please don't throw me in the briar patch!" There's something relaxing and peaceful about digging in the dirt and making my front yard just a little more presentable. My favorite is planting bulbs in the Fall and seeing them bloom in the Spring. It's like a little present to myself. The tulips I planted 5 months ago are just now surprising me with all of their colors, and I love it! Shelby cooperated for 3 minutes so I could snap a quick photo. So cute!

ShamWOW!
Mimi, Shelby, and I made the long drive up Hwy 287 last weekend to go see Shelby's Great-Grandpa Walt. For such a short trip, it was quite eventful. First, Mimi got her first speeding ticket in over 35 years. If you've ever ridden with her, you would understand that it was TOTALLY undeserved. But, like Cooder Graw says, "287 ain't never been a free ride."
On Saturday morning, we were supposed to meet Robert and Wendy for breakfast, but we got an early morning call from Stan letting us know that Wendy had delivered precious Baby Audrey during the night. Needless to say, they missed breakfast!
We then headed out to see Walt and his new house. WOW! It is really classy and well-built. Walt did a great job! Mimi and I were especially impressed with his ShamWow cabinet. Seriously, he keeps his life-time supply hidden so thieves like us won't steal them. We were lucky enough to get a demo and even a ShamWow of our own. Here's Mom and Walt with the coveted ShamWow:
Shelby was on her best behavior, as was Walt. They both got a kick out of each other.
Shelby and her Great-Uncle Stan had a few good laughs together.
Meredith sent Walt a GORGEOUS quilt, so Shelby and Mimi had to try it out.
All in all, it was a great trip. It was so touching to see Shelby with someone who has been such a big part of my life. For those of you that know Walt, you understand! For those of you that don't, you are missing out on lots of laughs.

Shelby and Baby Ashlee
Our Big News!!
Shelby has a secret...She's going to be a big sister in September. Yep, Momma's pregnant! Shelby's so excited, she has started waving and saying "mama" this week. Okay, so maybe that was just a coincidence, but we really are excited. Shelby will have a sibling 15 months younger than her. Mommy and Daddy will have two in diapers, two in cribs, and more love than we ever imagined.
P.S. The reason I had to take a picture of her asleep in her "big sis" onesie was because she doesn't stand still long enough to get a picture of the whole outfit.
